AFA "Rugova" – Peja

The Association of Political Prisoners of Kosovo organized a Commemorative Academy in honor of the 70th anniversary of the birth and the 30th anniversary of the death of the patriot, Prof. Isa Demaj.

Present at the Commemorative Academy was the Mayor of Peja, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri, along with his collaborators. “Today, we mark the 70th anniversary of the birth of Professor Isa Demaj, the well-known intellectual and activist, our fellow countryman, and for this we are honored. Peja is extremely proud to always remember figures like Professor Isa Demaj, an early friend and collaborator of Jusuf Gërvalla and President Rugova. Patriotic activities like those of Isa Demaj make us proud and strengthen us in our path toward building a free, independent, and democratic Kosovo,” said Mayor Muhaxheri.

Also present at the Academy was the President of the Association of Political Prisoners of Kosovo, Mr. Hydajet Hyseni, who highly praised the life and work of Professor Demaj.

The Minister of Education, Mr. Arsim Bajrami, in his speech, recalled memories as a student and as his teacher.

Meriman Braha spoke about the life and work of Professor Isa Demaj.

Additionally, the book “The Life and Patriotic Activity of Professor Isa Demaj”, prepared by Zymer Neziri, was distributed.
